Dr. Lulu
Dr. Lulu (Uchenna Umeh, MD, MBA, FAAP, CLC) is a workshop facilitator for Gender Illumination and a Nigerian-born pediatrician, author, speaker, and advocate for LGBTQ+ youth and their families. A proud mother of a transgender daughter, Dr. Lulu brings her lived experiences and professional expertise to her work, blending personal insights with clinical knowledge. A former Lt. Col. and commander in the United States Air Force, she is the host of the Moms 4 Trans Kids Podcast and founder of Dr. Lulu's Angels Haven, Inc., a nonprofit organization providing safe and affirming homes for unhoused LGBTQ+ youth, particularly Black trans children. Dr. Lulu’s advocacy is rooted in her mission to promote mental health, gender and sexuality affirmation, and health equity for marginalized communities.
